606 water group

Water is a finite resource and with an ever increasing demand for it, it’s important to know where your water comes from and how to care for it. All living things on the planet need it and our ecosystems depend on it.

Who we are

The 606 Water Group in Sooke is
named after the 606 Aquifer that runs from Jordan River down across to the Esquimalt Lagoon. It is the largest aquifer in the CRD at 537.6 km2. There other aquifers overlying 606 but  most people with wells in the Western Communities and in Sooke region rely on 606 for their water.

What you can do

With drought becoming a regular part of our lives, we need to learn how to conserve water and use it as effectively as possible. This includes in our homes and in how we conduct our businesses. Every drop counts and small actions on our part can make a big difference!
